Naked Mole Rat Genome

JAMA. 2011;306(21):2315. doi:10.1001/jama.2011.1741

The recently sequenced genome of Heterocephalus glaber, or the naked mole rat, will provide researchers with a new tool for investigating various traits of these rodents and provide opportunities to shed light on aging, cancer, and other fields of study (Kim EB et al. Nature. doi:10.1038/nature10533 [published online ahead of print October 12, 2011]).
