In Reply.—As Dr Wallace indicates there
are numerous errors of fact and assumption made by Dr Loudon in his review
of my book. Her challenge to his views should give cheer to the many patients
whose physiological abnormalities are ignored by poorly informed or biased
clinicians. Scenes in my book dramatize what Wallace finds alarming in Loudon's
position: "the dismissive stance encountered by many patients with CFS" and
other illnesses that may prove elusive to conventional diagnoses.
