This paper is based on a review of 253 cases (taken from Pfahler's private records) covering a period from 1902 to the end of 1930. It therefore covers a period of developing technic. The great majority of these cases have been treated since 1910. It has not been practical to follow the cases treated in the public clinics under our care until recently and therefore we have confined these records to the private cases. So far as we can judge and so far as we have been able to get cooperation in the clinic cases, we believe that the results are practically the same.
Epithelioma of the lip is a disease occurring chiefly in elderly men, but it may occur in women and in young adults. Among seventy-three cases collected by Warren, four were in women, three of whom were smokers. Of 1,338 cases, Fricke found 91 per cent in
