This is a third edition of a work initially published in 1926. It has been expanded to include recent alterations in governmental organization and administration, important legislative trends and approximately two hundred and fifty new court decisions relating to various aspects of public health law. It is designed to make readily available to health officers and others engaged in public health activities authentic information for their guidance. The author has had training in the fields of both public health and law. That fact is reflected in the contents and arrangement of the book, and its quality entitles it to a wide circulation. In the preface to this edition, the author expresses the hope that the book may continue to serve a useful purpose in the interpretation of law to the public health officer and of public health to the lawyer and the judge. There is justification for that hope.
