New Naval Medical Center  A new naval medical center to function as a medical diagnostic and educational center under the control of the bureau of medicine and surgery has been established under a recent general order reported in the November Military Surgeon. The budget bureau will be asked to approve the expenditure of about $3,200,000 for construction of a new naval hospital. If the appropriation is approved, work will commence about July 1. Capt. Ulysses R. Webb has been ordered detached from command of the dispensary at the navy department to command the medical center, which replaces the naval hospital and naval medical school administration set-up.
