This book provides one with a collection of material that has never before been available in a single volume. The author considers the subject from the onset of pregnancy to the end of the puerperal period, stressing in particular antepartum prophylaxis of the more common and sometimes serious results of negligence or careless handling of the patient during the antepartum and delivery periods. The chapter dealing with the pathology of the cervix is well done and should be of great value to the general practitioner doing obstetric work. Although one may not entirely agree with the author as to the feasibility of doing major plastic repair work on the female genital tract immediately following delivery, one can be safely guided by the criteria laid down in the text for the choice of case in which such treatment may be attempted. This book has a definite place in the obstetric field
