Meyer's autobiography, a notable addition to medical autobiography, appeared first in the "History of Medicine and Allied Sciences" under the title "A Short Abstract of a Long Life." In this book are also an interesting memoir of Meyer by Emil Novak in Baltimore, a complete list of Meyer's writings, arranged according to the years of publication, his histogenetic classification of ovarian tumors and a good subject index. The scientific eminence which he achieved will assure him "a permanent and prominent place in the history of embryology, pathology, gynecology and obstetrics."
