In accordance with the suggestion of Alvarez,1 the inhalation of pure oxygen is being used in the treatment of migraine. It is therefore appropriate to call attention to the feasibility of using the ordinary basal metabolism testing apparatus for the administration of concentrated oxygen.
The apparatus is arranged as for testing the basal metabolic rate except that the kymograph and recording device are not started. The oxygen bell is watched and refilled as necessary.
This method of administering concentrated oxygen has proved a very convenient office procedure.
