Macular diseases are quite common. In the last few years, advances in surgery and pharmacotherapy have opened the door to approaching management of diseases for which until recently there was no adequate available treatment. In this book the term macular surgery includes not only surgery but also laser procedures and intravitreal injections of pharmacologic agents. This broadens the scope beyond that of a regular surgical book. The chapter authors have done a great job of providing an update of new developments in macular surgery.
