This report was submitted October, 1959, by the Committee on Hypnosis; it was approved February, 1960, by the Council on Mental Health, and was reviewed April and September, 1960, by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals (which suggested a list of medical school personnel to whom it could most usefully be sent). On the basis of this report, the AMA sponsored a Conference on Standards of Training in Hypnosis (Atlantic City, N.J., May 10, 1960). Faculty members representing 22 medical schools in the United States and Canada participated. The report has been under continual study since October, 1959.
