To the Editor:—
In rebuttal to the letter from Doctor Rangiah of India: What we have quoted was the opinion of Doctor Rangiah et al. concerning a case that was reported by Lyford, Scott, and Johnson, which, incidentally, we have listed in our article as reference number 7. On page 74 of Doctor Rangiah's paper it is stated, in reference to Doctor Lyford et al., that the case "favours a diagnosis of either lymphogranuloma venereum or tuberculosis of the bone with a superimposed infection of the sinuses of the groin with granuloma venereum." In other words, we were not referring to the specific case which Doctor Rangiah reported in his article, rather we referred to his comment concerning the Lyford case.
