The seventh edition of Pediatric Surgery is an accomplishment of impressive proportions. With 9 editors and more than 200 authors (and weighing more than 5.6 kg), this 2-volume textbook is destined to be a standard pediatric surgical reference. But readers should not fear its heft. Pediatric Surgery also comes with online access to the entire textbook, including figures, at the ExpertConsult website. In addition, all of the references for each chapter, which are not included in the printed volumes, are accessible on this site. The vast majority of the references have hypertext links to the US National Library of Medicine via the Pubmed website, allowing for easy access to source material. Purchasers of the printed textbook can access the online version without charge using an access code inside the front cover of volume 1.
