To the Editor: Dr Rizos and colleagues1 conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) supplementation and cardiovascular disease events. While the overall conclusion of the article was omega-3 PUFA intake was not associated with lower cardiovascular risk, the dietary or supplemental intake and source of omega-3 PUFAs are 2 factors that may not have been adequately addressed.
