Supporters of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) contend that the law is a long overdue and an appropriate effort to improve the health and financial security of Americans. Opponents contend that the law is poorly focused and adds regulations and cost in ways that will not do much good. The results of 2 studies1,2 in this issue of JAMA shed light on this debate.
