To The Editor The Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT) concluded that chelation
therapy modestly reduced the risk of adverse cardiac outcomes.1 Dr Nissen, in his Editorial,2 pointed
out that despite TACT being a randomized clinical trial (the criterion standard for clinical
research), not all randomized clinical trials are equal. Likewise, Browner and Newman3 (almost 30 years ago) pointed out that not all significant
P values are equal.
