In Reply We do not at present recommend the use of combination therapy in all individuals older than 55 years. The value of using combination therapy for secondary prevention is well established; there was consensus among the participants at a global summit1 that large trials are needed to evaluate the role of the polypill in those at moderate to high risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
