To the Editor: There was a point in the Commentary by Drs Strathdee and Magis-Rodriguez1 that would benefit from complete data. The authors state “Approximately 90% of methamphetamine . . . entering the United States [is] produced or manufactured in Mexico.” They are presumably noting the proficiency of the production of illicit drugs in Mexican laboratories. However, it is difficult to assess the relative magnitude of the problem without knowing what percentage of US consumption of methamphetamine is imported vs produced in the United States.
