Advances in treatment have prompted the development of new guidelines for the care of patients with Parkinson disease.
The guidelines have been published as a supplement to the March issue of Neurology. They update previous recommendations released in 1994. Since then, said C. Warren Olanow, MD, editor of the supplement and chair of neurology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY, "significant treatment advancements may dramatically change the way physicians manage Parkinson's disease."
