In the midst of economic and social turmoil, the New Independent States (NIS) of the former Soviet Union have received an agreement from two US-based development agencies to continue partnerships aimed at improving the delivery of health care services.
The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) has announced a 5-year agreement with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to continue managing voluntary partnerships between US-based health institutions and their NIS counterparts. Under the agreement, USAID will provide $75 million during the 5-year period.
