Pharmaceutical manufacturer Glaxo Wellcome Inc of Research Triangle Park, NC, is one of four winners in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine's (ACOEM) third annual Corporate Health Achievement Award competition.
The awards, given at the ACOEM's recent conference in New Orleans, recognize companies in North America that conduct superior health, safety, and environmental management programs for their employees. Glaxo Wellcome and AlliedSignal Inc, a Morristown, NJ, maker of aerospace and automotive products, won in the manufacturing category. Baltimore Gas and Electric won in the nonprofit services organization category. The small government organization winner was the City of Indianapolis and Marion County (Ind) Sheriff's Department.
