If a picture is worth a thousand words, what is the worth of an atlas containing thousands of photographs, diagrams, charts, tables, and links to video clips? A great deal, as it turns out. The editor of the Atlas of Clinical Sleep Medicine states in the preface that his aim was to create a resource that would transmit state-of-the-art knowledge about sleep medicine not just with words but also through images and sound. The result is a lavishly illustrated and well-written textbook that does exactly what it set out to do.
