Originally published in 1983, the Textbook of Pediatric Emergency Medicine was the first text dedicated specifically to the subject. Indeed, the field was not yet even recognized as a subspecialty at the time of the book's initial publication. With the release of the sixth edition, the editors continue to set the standard for pediatric emergency medicine texts by presenting a well-written book updated to reflect current practices and recent advances in this rapidly developing field.
