In Reply: After careful rereading of section 4106 of the PPACA,1 we agree with Drs Preston and Alexander that this provision does not directly eliminate cost sharing for all recommended clinical preventive services for Medicaid enrollees. In fact, there is only one preventive service that the PPACA requires all Medicaid programs to provide without cost sharing: smoking cessation treatment for pregnant women.
