An outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) surfaced in March in villages in the southeast region of the west African nation of Guinea and spread to other areas within the country, as well as to neighboring Liberia (http://bit.ly/1hJyxYF). As of April 23, a total of 218 clinically compatible cases of EVD (including 141 deaths) were reported in Guinea. As of April 24, health authorities in Libera reported a total of 35 clinically compatible cases of EVD (including 6 deaths)—6 confirmed, 2 probable, and 27 suspected cases.
