Physicians: stand up and face a new group that has found a voice in this physician-blaming era and author. A small political group has evolved "to lift the shame and secrecy" from congenital intersex conditions. They want to halt nonconsensual infant surgeries and allow intersex to be considered an identity, not an abnormality, unless there is a threat to life as in congenital adrenal hyperplasia. They seek to eliminate the term "ambiguous" and replace it with "variant" to describe their genitals.
