Letters Section Editor: Stephen J. Lurie,
MD, PhD, Senior Editor.
To the Editor: Dr Weinberger and colleagues1 identified areas of improvement to maximize pharmacists'
contributions in helping patients with asthma manage their disease. On behalf
of the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA)—the national society
of pharmacists—we are disappointed in the study and its results. We
believe the primary value of the study is its demonstration of the need for
aligning incentives and practice patterns to improve patient care.
