Rosen's Emergency Medicine: Concepts and Clinical
Practice—commonly known as Rosen's—in
its fifth edition is again an impressive work. The 2700 plus pages, not counting
the 98-page index in each of the three volumes, is the product of 293 authors,
guided by an editor-in chief, two senior editors, and eight editors. Many
of the authors are well known in emergency medicine circles and widely published
in the emergency medical literature, and at least 61 have contributed to other
major texts. Some are considered experts in their fields of practice, and
most have professorial rank.
