A new program to avoid medical errors at all costs—or at least
at an initial cost of $7 million in funding by the Agency for Healthcare Research
and Quality—is being launched by the agency and the Department of Veterans
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and Veterans Affairs'
National Center for Patient Safety are collaborating on the program, the Patient
Safety Improvement Corps. The goal is to train state health care clinicians
during three 1-week sessions on how to prevent medical errors and close calls.
