Books, Journals, New Media Section Editor: Harriet
S. Meyer, MD, Contributing Editor, JAMA; David H. Morse, MS, University
of Southern California, Norris Medical Library, Journal Review Editor.
Heilman and Valenstein have released the first new edition in almost
a decade of their classic Clinical Neuropsychology.
The editors have brought together an excellent group of 34 cognitive neuroscientists,
who are knowledgeable about their subjects and have made significant contributions
to our understanding of cognitive and behavioral aspects of brain function.
The group provides a comprehensive and current review of neuropsychology
and related fields, such as behavioral neurology. As in prior editions, the
authors provide clear clinical descriptions of the major neurobehavioral disorders.
In addition, the underlying neuropathological and neuropsychological mechanisms
of these disorders are discussed.
