Shapiro currently teaches at the University of Arizona and is a psychotherapist
in private practice specializing in the treatment of health professionals.
In Delivering Doctor Amelia, he describes his counseling
of a physician who has severe emotional difficulties after delivering a baby
with cerebral palsy.
