Transplant Outcomes Database

JAMA. 2004;291(12):1434. doi:10.1001/jama.291.12.1434-c

Government officials have launched the first public database of results from blood and marrow stem cell transplants involving unrelated donors (http://www.ncbi.nih.gov/mhc).

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the National Library of Medicine are offering this resource in the hope that it will help physicians and patients better evaluate the risks and benefits of transplantation for a number of clinical conditions. The database provides age, sex, ethnicity, and genetic data on more than 1300 transplant donors and recipients worldwide.
