Book and Media Reviews Section Editor: John L. Zeller, MD, PhD, Fishbein Fellow.
This text is the basic approach of the faculty at the University of Basel to orthopedic problems in children. The authors also present it as the general approach in German-speaking countries. Indeed, most of the text could easily apply to international pediatric orthopedic practice. The entire subject is covered in a single book of 750 pages and is both easy to read and entertaining. This is quite remarkable for a text that was translated from the original German. The most unique features of the work are the numerous illustrative cartoons and red-lettered statements—both used to emphasize important points.
