Abstract

In this, the fifth and last volume of this work, is found the most complete and comprehensive exposition of the subject of surgery of the vascular system (by Matas) that has appeared in any language. It is practically a monograph on the subject, comprising as it does the first 350 pages of the volume.

Surgery of the pericardium and heart, arteriorrhaphy, arteriovenous anastomosis, aneurismorrhaphy, together with all the recent experimental work done along these lines, are very thoroughly covered. The chapter is a model of completeness and one of the most valuable of the entire system. Following is a chapter on the "Surgery of the Female Genitourinary Organs" which is a more complete exposition of the subject than is usually found in works of this kind. Among the newer subjects which are found discussed in this volume may be mentioned "Surgery of Accidents," "Surgery of the Parathyroid Bodies," "Intracranial Surgery
