The author began his work in 1903 after Lorenz's visit to London, and he reports 40 cases. Except for the report of these cases the book contains little that might not have been heard and observed at a clinical lecture by Lorenz eight years ago, with such additions as a surgeon, who had operated on on only a few cases and had not yet "found himself," might be expected to set down when writing a book. In a word the book contains nothing new of any value and much that is ancient, unnecessary and misleading.
