This fourth is a thoroughly revised edition, and is an expansive volume. The illustrations, many of which are in colors, cover the whole field of medical diagnosis. The work includes both physical diagnostic methods and laboratory procedures. Considerable space is given to practical advice on case taking, relative values of various observations, and other points culled by the author from his experience of many years as practicing physician, consultant and teacher. By the use of different styles of type, the author is enabled to lay varying degrees of emphasis on certain points, which is a distinct advantage to the student who must select from the vast mass of material those facts that he desires to memorize. An elaborate and efficient index completes what may be characterized a most practical book.
