State Medical Election.  —At the annual meeting of the state medical association, Yosemite Valley, Dr. Edward N. Ewer, Oakland, was elected president, Dr. William T. McArthur, Los Angeles, president-elect, and Dr. Joseph H. Catton, San Francisco, vice president. Dr. Emma W. Pope, San Francisco, is secretary. The next meeting will be in Oakland.

Sanatoriums Endowed by Dr. Bridge.  —The will of the late Dr. Norman Bridge of Pasadena and Chicago provided bequests of $1,000,000 each to the Barlow Sanatorium, Los Angeles, and the La Vina Sanatorium, La Vina. According to the Bulletin of the National Tuberculosis Association, both of these sanatoriums are equipped to treat tuberculosis at less than cost.
