This describes the anatomy of the temporal bone of the adult. It is based on special studies made of bones obtained from the pathologic institute of Strasbourg. The illustrations present interesting sections through the bone. It is divided into four parts: (1) on the bone as a whole; (2) on the sutures and other connections of its parts; (3) on its component parts under the headings petrous portion, squamous portion and tympanic portion; (4) on its cavities and canals. At the end is a very brief statement of the effect of the growth of the brain and of the action of the muscles on the form and character of this bone. The author announces that a more detailed study will appear in a later publication.
