This book, dedicated to Wagner von Jauregg, the author's teacher and former chief, has been written for the purpose of "introducing students to the difficult field of clinical neurology and to enable the practitioner of medicine to obtain a rapid or preliminary orientation regarding a neurologic subject." The author may be said to have attained this quite well, but the book cannot be said to be entirely down to date, especially as regards inclusion of recent contributions to neurology from beyond the frontiers of the German-speaking countries.
