Atrial fibrillation is the most common arrhythmia, affecting an estimated 2.3 million patients in North America.1 It is associated with a risk of stroke about 5 times higher than that of patients with sinus rhythm.2 Therapy for prevention of cardioembolic stroke is a cornerstone of AF management.
