This textbook contains a vast amount of solid information based on the enormous clinical observations of a master. Politzer, "who saw everything," leaves in this book a mass of authoritative material which can never grow old. The translator has tried to keep as much as possible the original text; a worthy effort to preserve it, as a sort of monument, to the great teacher. To do this, however, a price has been paid in that the literature of the last twenty years has received little attention; for the student who wishes a point of view abreast of the times, this is a matter for regret.
