Personal.  —Dr. Lewis M. Walker, director, U. S. Veterans' Bureau Hospital, Fort Roots, has been transferred to the veterans' hospital at Augusta, Ga., and will be succeeded by Dr. Frederick R. Sims, who has been clinical director at the Augusta Hospital.—Dr. Horace R. McCarroll has been elected city health officer of Walnut Ridge.

Second District Society Meeting.  —This society met at the Court House in Batesville, September 13, and was the guest of the Independence County Medical Society at a dinner at the Arlington Hotel.
