This is an interesting and instructive account of the work in preventive medicine that has been carried on in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in France since the close of the war. The campaigns being waged against tuberculosis, venereal disease and cancer are recorded, and the infant welfare work is described. The volume is attractively and fully illustrated, and contains a large amount of valuable statistical material, not only of death rates from the various diseases but also in connection with the examination and treatment of patients in clinics and hospitals.
