University News.  —Dr. Luther L. Hill, Montgomery, gave the annual address commemorating the seventy-ninth birthday of William Crawford Gorgas before the Lafayette Guild Chapter of the Gorgas Medical Society, University of Alabama, October 3; his subject was "Medical History."

Society News.  —Dr. Charles O. King, Birmingham, addressed the Walker County Medical Society, September 8, on diagnosis of skin diseases of interest to the general practitioner.—Dr. Duane M. Carr, Ann Arbor, Mich., addressed physicians of the Tennessee Valley in Decatur, September 26, on "Surgery of the Chest."


New Government Hospital at Hot Springs.  —The new Army-Navy General Hospital, erected by the government in Hot Springs National Park at a cost of $1,500,000, was opened to patients, September
