This volume is issued as a festschrift for the seventieth birthday of Prof. George Sticker, who is in charge of medical history in the faculty at Würzburg. It includes essays on many historical medical subjects, a bibliography of the writings of Professor Sticker and of his lectures, and a list of his courses. The essays cover many aspects of medical history from the earliest times through modern periods. Professor Sudhoff contributes an interesting paper on plague. There is also discussion of the writings of Paracelsus and of Albrecht Haller, and of the medical writings of such contributors as Lessing and Goethe.
