To the Editor:
—May I call your attention to page 1975 of The Journal for December 27, on which is an illustration of a binocular loupe. This is an old instrument known as the Hardy-Beebe loupe and has been used for many years by ophthalmologists. It should not pass as the invention of Dr. Frank Lahey.[The letter was referred to Dr. Lahey who replies:]
McBean GM. BINOCULAR LOUPE. JAMA. 1931;96(5):377. doi:10.1001/jama.1931.02720310067031
