Abstract

Spahlinger Will Not Accept a Challenge  The Daily Express has offered to pay $50,000 toward the work of Spahlinger in connection with his treatment of tuberculosis on condition that a committee of medical experts be permitted to examine and report on it. Every effort was made to get into touch with Spahlinger, who was in London, but without success. Messages were left for him with his friends and at his hotel, but met with no response. A telegram was sent to him where he has been staying, calling his attention to the offer and requesting him to receive a representative of the Daily Express for the purpose of discussing his acceptance or rejection of the proposal. But an answer was not received. It was learned, however, that he was fully aware of the offer, for he was in consultation with friends concerning it. The committee proposed by the Daily Express
