In this new volume, the publishers of the popular Year Books have now expanded their series to cover the fields of pathology and immunology. It consists of a collection of abstracts selected from the world literature and regarded by the editors as being the important contributions in 1939 and most of 1940. They present the main features of these articles with their conclusions; frequently there is added editorial comment with the good critical judgment that one might expect from two such well known workers in these branches of medicine. The first half of the book, devoted to pathology, has been prepared by Dr. Karsner. It is divided into sections dealing with general pathology, tumors and the various systems; in addition there are useful notes on new technical methods.
