AT the 1925 session of the Association, the House of Delegates suggested that all reports of officers, committees, etc., and resolutions to be brought before the House, if available, be published in advance of the session so as to permit careful consideration and discussion.—Ed.
REPORT OF THE SECRETARY
To the Members of the House of Delegates of the American Medical Association:The following annual report of the Secretary is respectfully submitted:
On March 1, 1940 the official membership list of the Association carried the names of 115,381 members. There were 116,266 members recorded on April 1, 1940 and on April 1, 1941 the number of enrolled members was 118,441, the largest number of members that has ever been reported to the House of Delegates.An accompanying table shows, with respect to each state, the number of counties, the number of component county medical societies, the
