This brief monograph deals with a rare lesion, traumatic aneurysm of the gluteal arteries. The author reports two cases and reviews the literature. The therapy indicated is early operative intervention preceded by intraperitoneal ligation of the hypogastric artery and involving resection of the aneurysmal sac and ligation of all bleeding vessels. The best approach is obtained by sectioning the insertion of the gluteus maximus muscle.
