Gottlieb will be the medical director of a sanatorium to be established at La Crescenta, near Los Angeles, for the sun and air treatment of bone and joint conditions.—Dr. Anita M. Muhl, San Diego, has been appointed head of the department of special education, a new department created by the California State Board of Education.—Dr. Cora E. S. King has been appointed director of the physical therapy department of the Hollywood Hospital, Hollywood.—Floyd Deeds, Ph.D., has resigned as assistant professor of pharmacology at Stanford University School of Medicine, San Francisco, to become pharmacologist at the Hygienic Laboratory, U. S. Public Health Service, Washington, D. C.—Dr. Magnus A. McKinnon, Placerville, has been appointed health officer
